Radiesse: a dermal filler for the foot that I love to use. Radiesse: A dermal filler used in the foot. Merz makes and sells Radiesse in the United States as a dermal filler to fill out voids and lines and wrinkles in the face. I have used Radiesse a dermal filler in the foot for over 10 years. To cushion an area of the foot that has a lot of pressure when walking, dermal fillers in the foot are used. Bunions, hammertoes, corns and calluses, and ball of foot pain are some conditions
I find using the product to be easy and provide great results. It comes pre-packaged and is quick to place into the foot. So when a patient comes in for a consultation and there is an area that would get relief from the injection of the filler Radiesse, it is right at our fingertips. An ultrasound may be used to guide the injection.
Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxyapatite and is one of the only foot fillers that is seen on x-ray. We can take an x-ray to see where the area is treated and follow its progress for years.
Another reason I like using Radiesse is that the healing is quick. There is little downtime after an injection and only mild discomfort. There are essentially no downsides and very little risk of infection. After the procedure, the office provides offloading pads to wear for a few days. We also recommend wearing a sneaker for two weeks.
Radiesse acts quickly. Patients feel immediate results but the optimal results are noted after six weeks. After the injection, your body stimulates collagen. You incorporate the collagen into the tissue offering foot padding and cushioning where it is needed. Given the degree of the loss of padding in the foot, a touch up at six weeks may be needed.
Finally, in the foot, Radiesse can last from one year to three years. If you have a painful condition and do not want surgery, foot fillers with Radiesse may help. Contact the Foot, Ankle & Leg Vein Center for a consultation with our Boca Raton or Boynton Beach doctors, Dr. Schoenhaus or Dr. Gold.
